A winner of a gia award, this design fulfills two needs in one product - protecting surfaces while using curling irons or hair straighteners and allowing clean, compact storage and protection when finished, even while still hot. Luke worked directly with the SVP of Product Development in executing this design. Proper material selection was critical to the design’s performance, and silicone and high-temp nylon were chosen for their thermal properties. In a great example of form follows function, the round to square morphing wall has an attractive look and allows necessary stability in both closed and open modes, and the cord wrap hooks double as center leg supports when open.
